Challenge Project Presentation.
I t is time to present your completed storage boxes. Several of us are building versions of the fine tool chest featured in WoodSmith magazine #147. However any form of storage box meets the criteria.
Veneering Workshop
S teve Wargo provided a very informative demonstration of both vacuum bag clamping and veneer hammering.
Hall Table Project
F or the Wood Carvers' Show in September we have chosen to build a Hall table based on the plans from WoodSmith magazine #152. John will do the legs, Jeff and Gary are working on the top. Richard is making the Apron and Chris will finish it.
Future Meeting Plans
W e would like to plan our meeting demonstrations for the next few months so please consider what you could share with the guild members.
Deadline for August's newsletter is July 24th
June's meeting
A t June's Ted continued his demonstration of drilling and fitting angled legs for a stool. Then Richard showed his method of edge jointing boards for a panel using a handplane to create a sprung joint.
We also discussed fund raising activities and Chris will look into legal or tax issues related to us making and selling items.
We also are trying to finalize plans for the workshops on Oct. 14 and 15 to cover furniture design and marquetry. Please save these dates. There will probably be a nominal charge for members and if we need we may open it to non-members for a market rate fee.
