Meeting on Wed. Sept. 13th

 

September Meeting

J ohn will be showing how to create half and quartered columns used in period furniture. As usual bring projects or items of interest for show and tell.

 

WoodCarver's Show

P lease sign-up for a two hour time slot to staff our table. The WoodCarver's Show will be the weekend of Sept. 23rd-24th.. This is a great opportunity for the guild to recruit more members.


Hall Table Project

F or the Wood Carvers' Show in September we have chosen to build a Hall table based on the plans from WoodSmith magazine #152. John has finished the legs and Jeff and Gary had the top veneered. Richard will be making the Apron and Chris will finish it.

 

Future Meeting Plans

W e would like to plan our meeting demonstrations for the next few months so please consider what you could share with the guild members.

August's meeting

 J eff showed how to use electrolysis to remove rust from tools. Also he demonstrated setting up the table saw to cut cove moldings.

There was another chest at the meeting. Also we looked at some parts of the hall table we are building.

Gary was going to work on preparing flyers to promote the guild. Chris will be acting as lead in driving an increase in membership. All guild members will need to contribute to this effort.

The workshops for Oct. 14 and 15 may be off as we have not been able to finalize and confirm the dates. We hope to be able to get workshops and guest demonstrations for the meetings set up in the future .
