What Joint Works

November Meeting Wed. Oct. 8th

J oinery will be the topic of discussion. Please bring samples or projects to discuss the joinery that you used. Also of interest would be tools or jigs you find useful.

Craig Vandall Stevens

T he workshops by Craig Vandall Stevens were very informative and he was able to cover several more topics. So besides design and marquetry he talked about use of Japanese planes and chisels, sharpening, dovetails and other techniques the uses.

Future Meeting Plans

W e would like to plan our meeting demonstrations for the next few months so please consider what you could share with the guild members.

Current suggestions are decorative banding, finishing, gilding and a hands-on marquetry.

December's meeting will be our annual great and eat.

October's meeting

C hris presented books that he finds helpful for referring to when designing and planning a project. Also Dennis Schroeder stopped in to thank us for the work on the hall table for the Woodcarvers's show. Then there was a discussion of chances to do demonstrations to promote the Guild at the Metroparks and County Fair.
