November's Meeting

N ovember's meeting will feature a continuation of the "back to the basics"series. Jeff is going to demonstrate through mortise and tenon joints and show off a little jig that he made to assist with these joints. Also Stephen will give a demo of hand cutting dovetails.

Also we will be having sign up for our annual Eat and Greet dinner meeting in December.

Thank You to the Northeast Ohio Woodworkers Guild. The beautiful cherry tilt top table was certainly a hit with the winner who happens to be Dave Mann's mother in law. No fix. Honestly! That table sure helped raffle ticket sales. With your help we were able to donate $ 700.00 to the Strongsville Special Olympics. Dana Martin the Strongsville local coordinator was certainly happy to recieve the check. Great job.

    We hope you choose to participate again next year. There was a lot of great feedback from both the fellow exhibitors and the visitors. It seems that we have a good mix of exhibitors. Next year we hope to have our Grand prizes done a good bit earlier so that we can show them in different places before the show. This should help raffle sales even more.

All I can say is thanks again to everyone in the guild who helped on this project and to those who were able to spend time at your tables and buy tickets on top of that.

October's Meeting

F or October's meeting we started a "back to the basics" series focusing on joinery. We discussed in detail the half-lap and mortise and tenon joints. We also discussed using hand tools to improve the accuracy of our joints.

Toy Challenge

A new challenge has been set. Please make a toy to present at the December meeting. If you wish it can be donated for our toy drive for the Berea's Childrens Home.
